Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The vagina is protected by a thin membrane like curtain in women who are virgin and have not had sex. During first time sex this hymen gets ruptured by the entry of the penis and is also accompanied by little bleeding and pains. In some women this hymen is tough and does not get ruptured easily. In your case it might be that your hymen is not yet ruptured. There is also another possibility for your problem and that is you vaginal opening may be narrow. For this you need to consult your doctor and this can be relieved by doing serial vaginal dilatation.
