What Causes Numbness Sensation In The Left Leg?

I was on a long car ride a few days ago and my left leg feels numb. Like it feels as if it s about to fall asleep if that makes sense. I feel like I need to stretch my leg because it s not getting enough blood flow. I m 21 in perfect health. Should I be concerned?

While on the long car drive, you may have been seated in a position which caused pressure on certain nerves supplying the lower limb. Most common is the sciatic nerve. In all probability, in a day or two, the nerve function would be back to normal, and you would be fine. If however the numbness persists, please get a nerve conduction study done to rule out ant marked injury to any of the lower limb nerves. You may please show the reports to a Neurologist or a Podiatric Surgeon.
