Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am intermittently experiencincing numbness in my fingertips, in one or the other hand. i do not have diabetes, am thin and in very good physical condition for a man of 70. The condition is worse with non-movement, as when I first wake up in the morning, but also comes on quickly when I touch frozen items. What is the likely cause and what can I do about it?
I think you are suffering from Raymond phenomenon. It is caused by overactive vassal contractions while in touch with low temperature.
This causes blood vessels to narrow causing bad circulation and pain. It gets better in normal temperature. Try to avoid these low temperatures. Wear gloves. Stay in warm environment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
