What Causes Numbness In Tongue?

Hi, i have recently experienced numbness is my lower half of my body (from my butt area down to my feet) i have been thru a catscan, and just recently (2days ago)had a mri done.. I have not gotten any results back yet.. the numbness in my lower half has been getting alittle better.. but i noticed 3 days ago my tongue seems to have some numbness.. actually it feels like it was burnt, but i didnt have anything that would have caused that.. just wondering could the 2 be connected in anyway? feet, legs, tongue etc..

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your symptoms such as numbness in tongue, legs and feet are indicative of low blood sugar level in your body i.e it could be due to diabetes. Severe acute sinus infection along with low blood glucose level in your body causing these symptoms. I would suggest you to visit general practitioner once and get your HbA1c levels checked and go for testing of random and fasting blood glucose and start treatment accordingly. Keep brushing twice daily and use Listerine mouth wash. Do flossing twice a week . Keep drinking plenty of water. Go for exercise daily. Get insulin levels monitored on monthly basis follow up.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
