What Causes Numbness In Thigh In Thyroid Patients?

hi there...my husband, 6'2" 49 yrs old about 200lbs with thyroid issues, has been experiencing numbness in his left thigh for about 4 months and now he has found or felt an area about 4" x 2" on his right inner thigh is raised with pain and is burning hot to the touch. it hurts when he touches it and now is almost from his knee into the groin area??? he has not strained it or hit it in any way.. he thinks its muscle related but he has not injured either leg/thigh area ever. any ideas??

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,
Good day. A difficult question indeed. Unless a doctor inspects and examine, it may be diificult to pinpoint the problem. There are many possibilities.
1. An infection
2. Muscle injury
3. Mononeuritis: Meralgia paresthetica. ( either due to obesity or from hypothyroidism).

He may have to go and visit a doctor, preferably an internal medicine doctor who can examine and advice further.
Regards
Binu
