What causes numbness in the toes?

Hello, My name is Melissa and I am experiencing numbness in 3 of my toes on one foot and whats weird is that I actually have feeling on the top of my toes. Not sure if this is an issue regarding shoes or the way I am walking. I have pink color in my toes. Not like it is turning color or anything like that. I am a chef and spend all day on feet running around. I am wearing Dansko shoes but my toe numbness is more irritating than anything. I have had this issue now for a a few months. Wearing heals is out of the question because part of my foot becomes numb if I wear them too long. Oh well, don t really need to wear heals anyways. Not sure if this is a circulation issue or something else.

It might be due to neuropathic causes like uncontrolled diabetes. You can consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

I have been experiencing numbnes in all my toes. I have been blaming my shoes cause I use steel toe shoes, but I have used steel toe shoes for the last 6 years. I also may think because lately I have been doing pedicures and both nails of my big toes are falling.

At L5-S1, I have a 6 mm left lateral disc protrusion that abuts the exiting nerve. I have a history of sciatica. However, I developed a new symptom. While sitting and typing on my computer, I noticed that my 5th toe on the right foot feels numb to the touch...Could this be a result of the L5-S1 disc protrusion or early signs of diabetes?

Hey Doc, I m a 54 year old male in good health. I ve been on a diet since February and have lost 20 lbs. I ve been taking one green coffee bean capsule about 5 day a week to help curb my appetite. I feel great except the ends of my toes feel numb since I started the diet. I m not sure the diet or green coffee bean pills have anything to do with my symptoms? Pete
