What Causes Numbness In The Legs?

in late may my leg went numb...i went to the hospital had an mri and was told i had a herniated disc in my spine. i went to visit my primary and in the way in the leg gave out and i broke my ankle. i wore a brace and bed rested until the middle of june and was told my ankle had healed. the numbness went away. just last week the numbness came back accompanied by some dizzyness which comes and goes along with general weakness. (five yrs ago i had a massive stroke but have little risidule effects) is this cause for concern and should see my primary before feb. which is my next appointment i see him every 3-6 months because i also have fiber (which i have had for approximately 15 /20 yrs)

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
Sorry to here what you have been through.I am happy you are now doing much better.
From the result of your MRI, i feel the numbness may be due to your herniated disc.A disc herniation causes nerve compression that may have such a presentation. However, you will need to see your primary care Doctor for evaluation and to eliminate a stroke.A stroke may also cause numbness but only an examination by your Doctor may tell.In the meantime, the services of a Physiotherapist may be hired for reeducation. If pains, your Doctor may prescribe pain drugs depending on the intesity of the pain.
Hope this will help.
Wish you good health and feel free to write back if you need more help.
Best Regards
