What Causes Numbness In Knee After Bruising In Leg?
I m not sure if I should be concerned or if it s just a slow healing process. Can someone help me? On July 4th (almost a month ago) I got hit by a golf ball and I was only 20 ft away when they drove the ball off the tee. It grazed one shin and hit my other shin (just below my knee) stopping the ball. My legs bruised instantly, but my vain on my right leg popped out of my skin by the bruise. I hurried up and propped it up and put nice on it. My whole leg was bruised on one side and I couldn t put pressure down. I got an x ray and they said I didn t break anything. But its almost a month later and I can t fully bend my knee, I get numbness like its asleep, it hurts a lot and where the ball hit I still have a slight bruise and a hard knot or something. When I drive for a while in the car it makes my foot feel numb. Do I have nerve damage?
It is possible that you do have some damage to the nerves and muscles in the area since you are experiencing numbness and difficulty with flexion of the knee.
This can be assessed by an orthopedic doctor.
It is possible that physiotherapy may help improve your symptoms but this would need to be determined.
Some cases of mild nerve injury full recovery is possible but it can take a few months for some persons as the nerves repair slowly.
I hope this helps
