What Causes Numbness In Feet?

Wife which is a 45 year old white male started having numbness in feet about 6 weeks ago. Now she is also having it in her hands and mid back. She feels at time her left side is almost dead. The left side seems to give most of the problems but she does have it on both sides half the times. Now she is complaining of being foggy headed and heart sometimes feels like it is racing. All this started after she had her throid taken out. Blood work show she was low in B-12 and has taken 3 B-12 shots in the last 3 weeks. They seem to help at first but for only 12-24 hours, then all the systems are back. She is not a diabetic either since those labs came back fine.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
The numb and tingling feet that you are having are likely to be related to a nerve root compression at the level of lumbar spine. It is not related to the blood pressure medicine thta you have started recently.
Other causes include injury to the back or spinal cord, Lack of blood supply to the legs as a result of plaque formation in the blood vessels, diabetes, stroke, multiple sclerosis and underactive thyroid. Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body and a lack of vitamin B12 can also cause tingling sensations.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
