What Causes Numbness In Ear?

I woke up this morning with a numb right ear (the outer part). It is not sore. There is no tingling. I do not feel sick. I have not been sick lately. I am a 50 year old healthy female. I exercise on a regular basis and eat healthy. I just went for a physical lately and everything was fine except my iron was low. I have been taking iron pills for a few days now. I did hit the side of my left head about a month ago. It was sore for awhile but it is gone now. Any ideas.
