What Causes Numbness Below The Shoulder Blades?

I had 2 spinal fusions in December the first from t9 -t4 a screw got loose and was next to my aorta st second surgery corrected that and extended fusion to t2. Both t2 & t3 were found to have fractures and t2 has partially collapsed. My back is now numb from below my shoulder blades to just below my shoulders where the burning and stabbing starts. This started in the past 4 weeks with the numb area increasing. After the surgery the numbness was just a small square area between my shoulder blades. Pain is also now going up the right/back side of my neck causing daily headaches. It is also difficult to hold my head up straight without causing pain. Any idea? Thank! Peggy

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It can be due to nerve impingement. Consult a neurosurgeon and get evaluated. An MRI scan is required for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
