What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Feet?

I have numbness and tingling in my toes on both feet. My blood work has come back okay. My doctor didn t make any other suggestions. I have some low back pain (sacrum area). Could that be causing numbness and tingling in my toes? I don t have leg pain. I would like to know what is causing this so I can address the problem if possible. If you don t think it is caused by my back pain, what do you think might cause it? When this started 2-3 years ago, I asked my foot doctor about it. He sent me to a neurologist. She checked my blood work and at that time said my B12 was low. I ve been taking B12 supplements and the blood work this time (2 weeks ago) was fine. The neurologist didn t make any other suggestions. Should I go back to the neurologist?

Hello,

See you are telling typical symptoms of sciatic nerve compression but I don't know why your neurology doctor didn't tell about it.

Your sciatic nerve in the back might have injured sometime or something pressing on it which might be causing this entire problem. Nerve Injury should be treated with vitamin B12 tablets. It will heal the nerve. So you were given those medications before.

For that medication, you must have got better but you say you are not. That means still your sciatic nerve something might be compressing or bad posture if you can recall.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
