What Causes Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Cheeks?
My daughter 29 yrs old is experiencing intermittent surface sensory numbness one time whole left side and tingling in cheeks. Has had numerous tests all normal. Eye disturbances, jiggling and pressure on both eyes intermittently. Not MS not Sjogrens. She has no pain. cat scan of brain normal.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of numbness and tingling sensation in the cheeks which is usually due to injured, damaged or diseased nerve and sometimes compressed nerve. These symptoms can also occur due to some medical condition involving nerves like diabetic neuropathy. In your case it could be due to involvement of facial nerve.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start massage and physical therapy of face .You can also start taking multivitamin supplements. Avoid wide opening mouth as it will cause stretching of cheeks. Neurotropic medication such as nerve supplement, methylcobalamin is effective to improve your symptoms. You should consult oral maxillofacial surgeon/neurosurgeon without any delay for proper examination and to rule out serious conditions. Doctor may order MRI along with other test and treat it accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
