I cut my index finger pretty bad right at the inner knuckle. caused instant numbing to finger. had to have 5 stiches and the finger is still numb and at times gets warm and sends a shocking sensation through finger upon certain movement or if touched by laceration there is no pain and the finger looks very bruised as well will I ever get feeling back in my finger?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of numbness and bruise, you may be having nerve injury.
My treatment advice is -
1. Apply ice on bruise twice daily.
2. It takes time for nerve regeneration, so numbness will gradually fade away.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
4. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for faster results.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
