What Causes Numbness And Burning Sensation In The Face?

I have numbness and a burning sensation whenever I touch one side of my head from my crown all the way toward my face going into my brow and orbital bone under my eye. There s also periodic itching on my scalp in this area but scratching it causes the burning to be pretty severe. I ve had this for a few days and it seems to be spreading further down my face and cheek with each new day. Any ideas?

Hi.
As per your case history you may be having either vitamin b12 deficiency or pre-herpes zoster pain.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and levocetrizine for itching.
4. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 10 days.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Thanks.
