What Causes Numb Tingly Feeling Under The Tongue?

I recently took a 2 week rx of Flexeril 10 mg twice per day but stopped because it made me dizzy though it helped with my pain a lot. I stopped 10 days ago, but pain got bad this weekend so I took 1 dose afterwards I got numb tingly feeling under my tongue which has persisted to today. I can still taste, have no trouble breathing, eating, or speaking. It seems like this is a side effect of the drug is there anything I should do or just wait it out? My doctor told me to wait it out and see if it decreases over the next week and be careful of any breathing difficulties or swelling if it develops.

hello,
I suggest that you follow the advice of your doctor with careful monitoring. Make sure that you take the medicine exactly as prescribed. Do not let it sit in your mouth. if just a side effect, you have to balance this effect vs relief to determine if you should proceed to take this drug. Sometimes dosage can be decreased to help lessen side effects. You may need to consider alternate medications.
An allergic reaction is a greater concern and if escalates can be life threatening. stop immediately if breathing difficulties. Seek care as soon as possible.
Thank you for your inquiry.
