Hello, my friend was hit on the back of the head when a huge table fell on him (about 2 weeks ago) He went to the ER and was diagnosed with a mild concussion and said he was fine. Yesterday his nose started bleeding. Should he go back to the ER for more tests or is he going to be okay?
HI. Thanks for your query for your friend. The head-injury is obvious with a large table hit his back of head. It is good that you took him to the ER and him investigated and diagnosed as concussion about 2 weeks ago. Now after 2 weeks he is getting epistaxis, that is nose bleed. This may no be related to the head-injury 2 weeks ago. You need to take him to the ER for clinical evaluation, nasal endoscopy to see the reason so that a proper treatment can be started. This is usually the blood coming from the front portion of the septum called Little's area and easy to control. They will see for the site, put a pack or do nasal cauterization to control the bleeding. It will be worth to see any sequel of the head injury 2 weeks ago.
