What Causes Non-specific Interstitial Pneumonia?
yes I ve been diagnosed with the lung disease NSIP and am screening for double lung transplant I have been on Mychophenolate and am showing improvement.. blood work came back from the transplant team and I have a mildly inlarged splean-lower than normal blood platelets- para thyroid is high and I have very very low vitamin D levels.. waiting on my Dr to review results.... my question is what could be causing these issues

The cause of non specific interstitial pneumonia is usually auto immune related insult or sequence of unknown viral infection of lung parenchyma. The issues with mild spleen enlargement, high parathyroid hormone and very low vitamin D levels indicate immune related response to basic pathology or Mycophenolate medication. Should discuss the same with your treating physician for further guidelines.
