What Causes Non Productive Cough And Tightness In The Chest?

I have Asthmas and every time I get a cold it is hard to get rid of. It has been approx 3 week and it is still holding on. I am on singular and Advair for Asthmas. Then I was put on a zpack and predionsone. I still have a non productive cough and tight chest. What cough medicine can I take to loosen the cough and is mucinex ok YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

You can use expectorant cough syrup to expel the mucus wok of your respiratory tract.

You can also take NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) tablets to lyse the mucus.
