What Causes Nodules On Lungs?

I HAD A CATSCAN ON MY LUNGS RECENTLY AND IT SHOWED TWO NODULES ON MY LEFT LUNG AND ONE ON MY RIGHT LUNG. IN YOUR OPINION WHAT COULD THIS POSSIBLY MEAN ? A FEW YEARS AGO I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH COPD. THESE NODULES ARE REALLY CAUSING ME SOME CONCERN. I WOULD APPRECIATE YOU INPUT. THANK YOU.

I can understand your concern and would do every thing to help you in thebest way possible. First of all relax take a deep breath and dont panick. Multiple nodules in Lungs could be due to several conditions like abscess, Septic Emboli, Fungal Infection, Parasites, Tuberculosis, AVMs or Pneumoconiosisormay be a malignancy too. You need further investigations which may include a serial CT Scan or tissue sampling. I suggest you consult a doctor so that the correct diagnosis and line of management may be formulated for you.
