What Causes No Fetal Cardiac Activity When Having Thyroid?

i m 34 yrs female....i have thyroid since 3-4 years..my tsh values are 10. i have conceived just 3 months back, but in 6th week of post conception,when i have routine ultrasound examination, then doctors found no fetal cardiac activity....what could be the possible reasons for this n after this i have to go for abortion. please tell me what r the future precautions i have to undertake for my next successful pregnancy

hello and thanks for choosing HCM.

I am sorry that all this has happened and appreciate your concern. The main reason for this may be the raised TSH indicating insufficient control of hypothyroidism. Other reasons for abortion are TORCH group of infections, raised blood sugars, auto immune disorders, abnormalities in the baby and most of the time there is no reason detected.

Since you already have a condition predisposing to abortion, first try to correct it. You may need to consult and enodcrinologist or a physician to help adjust the thyroid medications doses to decrease the TSH.

repeated evaluation may be needed until the optimum dose is reached. Also get a blood sugar and TORCH test done to look for other causes.
Attempt pregnancy after everything is settled and you will do fine.
