Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Sweating is a natural response to physical and emotional stress.
But excessive sweating, when the reason is unclear, is often a sign that something is not right.

Low blood sugar levels and diabetes-related nervous system damage cause the most commonly experienced sweating conditions in people with diabetes.(-these are the causes of night sweat in a type 2 diabetic patient)

Extremely low blood sugars cause a fight-or-flight response, triggering the release of hormones that increase sweating.

At the other side, when blood sugar levels are too high for too long, a loss of nerve function can occur.
This condition is known as diabetic neuropathy.

If the nerves that control the sweat glands are damaged, they may send the wrong message to sweat glands.
In most cases, neuropathies cause excessive sweating.

You have had the night sweat for several months and from this ,i can deduct that you may have diabetic neuropathy.

At the other side,in my opinion you may had some episodes of hypoglicemia, considering that the sweating has been very extreme the last two days.
The hypoglicemia can be dangerous and must be taken in consideration from your treating doctor.

My adviceis to consult physically your treating endocrinologist and discuss with him all the potential causes of your night sweats and if you need to adjust the treatement of you Diabetes.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if i can assist you further.
