What Causes Negative Home Pregnancy Test Despite Having Positive Result In Regular Tests?

I was meant to have my period on the 3rd of July so I took a pregnancy test on the 7th and the result was positive, this came as a shock so I took another regular pregnancy test and it came out positive. Both these tests came out with two lines, one fainter than the other. However when I took a digital clear blue test to see how far gone I am it came up as not pregnant?!! So confused

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

A home pregnancy test is conclusive after 8 days delay of periods. Again, a contaminated urine sample can give false positive pregnancy test (one dark and one faint line). Please go for the test at proper time before reaching conclusion.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
