Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.
You seem to suffer from -?Lemierr's syndrome-where in the throat infection with Fusobacterium anerobic bacteria causes internal jugular vein clogging, with accompanied neck glands inflammation, leading to prominent neck veins.
Smoking may precipitate this secondary infection, with primary viral throat infection, which could get neglected.
As this can be life threatening throat infection with prominent neck veins, You need to Consult Physician and plan- IV -Clindamycin/ with Metronidazole-treatment followed by prolonged antibiotic treatment due to accompanied endo-vascular infection involved in such cases.
In your case, as the things are persisting for 1 yr, your case seems to be -of chronic lymphadenitis, with accompanied internal jugular vein pressure, causing prominent neck veins.
I would suggest-USG with Color doppler study of neck veins and fixing cause and complications with it.And to plan needful treatment accordingly with physician.
Thus your case is serious and needs urgent investigation and treatment, if proved to be Lemierr's Syndrome.

Hope this reply would help you to resolve the health issues with help of doctors attending on you.
