What Causes Nausea , Sharp Headache And Light Headedness?

Today, I experienced what seemed to be a low blood sugar moment. I was light-headed suddenly, cranky, a bit nauseated, but also had what felt like an adrenaline surge that caused me to feel a pretty intense pressure in my face, head, and hands as well as two very sharp, pin-prick pains in the top of my scalp/skull, one on either side of the center line just forward of my crown. I was seated when it came on and felt for a moment that I might faint. I decided to risk standing and walking (aided by a railing) for a few feet. That seemed to help. Was it all low blood sugar? (I had only had coffee and half a slice of toast that morning.) The pulsing pressure and pain my head and other extremities seems so odd. I ll add here that my blood pressure is normally very good (120/70 at highest). Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to hypoglycemia.

In that case, kindly take 2 teaspoons of sugar.

Kindly check for fasting and postprandial sugar level and should adjust the dose if you are diabetic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
