What Causes Nausea, Dizziness, Incontinence And Forgetfulness While On Metformin?

Hello Dr. Rynne, I am wondering if I have a B12 deficiency. This past month I have suffered from vertigo for 3.5 weeks with medicine for nausea and dizziness. Additionally, in the two months prior I suffered from vertigo for one week each with no RX. My symptoms are incontinence, forgetfulness.........and some other symptoms I can t remember right now! I take metformin for diabetes, metoprolol for increased BP and calcium for osteoporosis - along with a multi-vitamin. If I do have a B12 deficiency, what do I need to do? Thanks for your answer. Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It is usually necessary to treat patients who have developed B12 deficiency with regular cobalamin injections. Replenishment of body stores should be complete with IM injections of hydroxocobalamin. For maintenance therapy, hydroxocobalamin IM is satisfactory.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
