What Causes Nausea, Dizziness, Headache, Blurred Vision And Fatigue?

I have had a terrible headache for about 4 days now with all of the following symptoms: smell and taste of blood but none visible anywhere, extreme fatigue but unable to sleep, some mild dizziness, some nausea, stiff neck and shoulders, blurred vision, at times some shooting pain going up my back, pain in the flank area on both left and right, and along with the stiffness in neck and shoulders, I ve felt heaviness like not being able to bring my arms up above my shoulders and cold fingers like they were numb and lastly light sensitivity. What is going on?

Hello,

As seen in history this is multiple symptoms which can not be taken under one roof of consideration to judge and give a diagnosis.

As per the neck pain, shoulder pain. tingling, numbness, altered sensation we should rule out if any nerve entrapment is present in the cervical region. if this was the only symptom I would have concluded the cervical spine issue. But it's not the case. we need to rule out before coming to a conclusion so we do not misguide you.

But you do have a presence of taste changes and smell changes, so Cranial nerve is involved and that is the thinking I am getting.

You mentioned about headache and pain travelling upward along the spine etc so we do have to rule out step by step as even the HMC might have got involved and pain isn't coming down.

Let's take it one by one. For pain in upper limbs, shoulder, neck, tingling, numbness etc we need to assess the cervical spine under neurologist guidance and rule out if any particular nerve is getting involved. We may even need an MRI.

Next, the taste and smell, we need a neurologist to assess and examine your all the cranial nerves for any kind of pathology.

And the last, you mentioned about headache since 4 days not coming down and pain travelling from down to upwards in the back so we may have to consider the HMC/Brain and spinal cord. An MRI will be suggestive.

Before all of this, let's take the blood routine and urine routine which can help us understand that is this all symptoms due to any kind of infection. If its because of infection the blood and urine routine will catch it up.

I would strongly recommend having a physical examination by the neurologist as we shouldn't misunderstand any symptoms and take it lightly.

Also, till you meet the neurologist I will advise you to take hot water fermentation for the neck region and use the cervical collar for time being. If the pain comes down and the other symptoms too then it might not be that kind of worry but a physical examination might be of need in later stages.

Please meet up a neurologist and let's figure out what actually the problem is.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
