What Causes Nausea, Chest Pain, Chills And Fatigue While Having Hiatal Hernia?

Hi, I ve had nausea and an ache in my chest right below my breastbone for several days, plus long lasting goose bumps/chills, fatigue, and a bloated feeling in my intestines. I do have GERD and a hiatal hernia, but do not have the symptoms I d normally associate with reflux issues. Thoughts? Thanks for your help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

This may be suggestive of certain hiatal hernia complications such as pneumonia which may be facilitated with reflux. So you need to do lung xrays to rule this out. Also, gastroscopy should be done in some time to verify is there a hernia progression. In severe cases it should be surgically repaired especially if such symptoms occur frequently.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
