Hello,
I read your message and understood your health issue.
It seems you are experiencing some side effects of
Citalopram after increasing the dose. Nausea and
dizziness are light side effects when the dosage is increased and they are temporary. Within two days the symptoms normalize.
But you need to be aware if other symptoms develop especially the way how you think. If you have suicidal thoughts or if you are more anxious and drastic changes in mood please talk to someone and see your doctor.
Some other drugs interfere with citalopram action. Some combinations can be dangerous especially with IMAO drugs. Pay attention what other drugs you may take.
Citalopram is an anti-
depression drug classified as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). This means that this drug can accumulate serotonin in your body and cause the
serotonin syndrome. But your case is not the one.
Your symptoms are too light to be considered as a possible serotonin syndrome. If new symptoms develop especially fever, palpitations, and
hypertension please seek medical attention.
Hope this is helpful.
