What Causes Nausea After A Robotic Colectomy?

I had robotic colectomy 10/20/17 and home past two days. I am experiencing moderate nausea. I have been taking 5 mc oxycodone hcl with 2 tylenols every 6 hours. I am feeling alittle better with some tea and small amount of frozen yogurt. wondering if I should be having nausea after 6 days of pain med.

1. The symptom [nausea] which you are suffering could be the common side effect of the drug oxycodone along with vomiting, constipation, drowsiness.

2. One tablet of oxycodone remain in the blood for 3 days, so if you are taking it for 6 days, it means that it will take another 18 days to become completely free from the medication side effects, so

- chew cardamom. ginger, lime, or crushed ice, and take low fiber diet.
- if mild then tablet perinorm [metaclopramide] 10 mg can be taken or if nausea gets prolonged, check with your doctor for hospitalization or change of the medicine.
- make sure to have regular checkups with your surgeon, medical oncologist or gastroenterologist. [depending on the condition for which surgery was recommended].
