What Causes Nasal Cavity Blockage And Severe Cough In A New Born?

Hi Dr, 11 weeks infant has cold like symptoms from last 2 days- blocked nasal, cough increasing through night, difficulty breathing interrupting his sleep and feeding. dr told he is developing phlegm and prescribed antibiotics- Pecef duo 200 & Asthakind for his cough. They didn t describe us the type of infection. Is this just common cold or RSV or pneumonia associated? What are the measures for his speedy recovery. Thank you Swarna

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, cough cold and fever are common in this age group and this is not the infection unless tested for this have some evidence without indication of infection antibiotic needs to be avoided, this is the self limiting condition and comes around on its own, no need to worry about this hope this information helps.
