What Causes Muscle Spasms On The Back And Neck After An Injury?

i have C2 to c7 fused with instrumentation in my cervical spine. I fell and hit the front top part of my forehead and head and felt the base of my neck jam. I now cannot fully extend my left arm , have muscle spasm and pain in the left back of my neck. I woke up in severe pain in my left arm two days ago that did get relief with muscle relaxers and alleve. I did this 3 weeks ago. I did see a doctor and get a CAT scan with no report of seeing injury. my symptoms appear to be more related to the nerve at C6/C7 vs C7/T1. with this level fused how can that be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to spine related conditions like prolapsed disc or nerve compression.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
