What causes muscle spasms in the calf?

I have had serious muscle spasm that starts in the right calf outside below the knee in the hollow and it very painful and pulls my right foot grotesquely to the left and uncontrollable for several minutes. I started drinking propel and has gotten lot better. Do I stl! need to see Doc for it? YYYY@YYYY

Muscle spasm may be due to overexertion or dehydration or electrolytes imbalance. Kindly drink lot of fluids or water. Avoid over exertion. Take proper food. Take Electral powder or homemade water with salt and sugar. Take proper rest.
