What causes muscle spasms after a lumbar puncture procedure?

I had a lumbar puncture on the 7th, I did as instructed and did not have any symptoms that could not be handled after the procedure such as mild headache and soreness at site...I did go back to work on the 12th and sitting in a chair all day I started having very strong muscle spasms in the sacrium (sp?) area and they have progressed to every 15 min some mild some strong and there is some soreness in the thigh more on the left...I assume this is from the LP....is this something I should be seen for?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your description chances of sacrum spasm and thigh stiffness after one week of lumbar puncture is rarely. But if you are feeling it continuously over a day then kindly consult your operating doctor for better guidance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
