Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! It seems when I take Vitamin D, I get muscle aches. Why? Last year I was actually hospitalized with a ck level of 12,000! They never found out why but say maybe a virus. Last week I took a Vitamin D and the next day had those muscle aches so I think I will never take it again~ NEVER MIND-I HAVE A PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR WHO I ALSO WORK FOR SO I WILL ASK HER TOMORROW FOR FREE. I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIND ANSWERS ONLINE.... THANKS ANYWAY!

General & Family Physician, Dr. B M Gupta's Response
welcome, most of the times vitamin d does not cause side effects (muscle ache), it may be due to high dose, ask your doctor to reduce the dose or divide in two doses or give injection vitamin d , only one or two injections are enough, discus with your doctor,he is the best judge, take eggs, meat, fish, milk products, mushrooms, sun exposure is best for vitamin d , take care.
