What Causes Muscle Cramps Above The Navel And Around The Ribcage?
Hi my name is Melissa I'm a 31 female . For about a year now I have been experiencing muscle cramps / spasm in my abdominal area the generalize area is a few inches above my belly button and to the right going across to my ribs. It almost feels as it moves or pops at times. The pain is so extreme I'm either hunched over and can't move or I'm trying to stretch a way to make it go away that will last several minutes and the pain will dull over the next hour or so. I thought maybe a pulled muscle or something of that sort.

Abdomen pain above the umbilical area could be due to colicky pain it may be due to smooth muscle spasm, infection may be the cause, and the most common cause would be acid peptic disease, biliary colic, pain can be managed with Dicyclomine with Paracetamol, some time such symptoms may be transient and may not need any treatment.
