What Causes Mucus Discharge From Rectum?

I have ulcerative colitus, I have noticed mucus coming out of the rectum instead of steady waste. Today, on my right side.. It seems there is a large bump ,swelling of my pelvis or colon that has dropped at the same level of my pelvise..what could this mean?

Dear: it is mostly secondary to the inflammation of the colon from colitis. You might need to talk to your doctor about this. Sometimes you can use suppositories to decrease the inflation.
