What Causes Mucous Blood Discharge In The Bowels?

I might have damaged my large intestine as I was trying some stuff with (obviously) not very effective lubricant. At the first day (it was 2 days ago) there was an abundance of regular mucosa discharge.Yesterday I had some bloody mucosa but not much.Today, there isn't any blood but the colour of the mucosa turned brown. I consulted my doctor and he asked for stool analysis and culture. I'll get the results within 2 days but I'm concerned whether injuries (I assume that there are injuries) can get infected (or if they are already infected) which in turn can result in serious health problems. What can I do as for my part till I get the results, should I ask especially for anal examination (i.e. colonoscopy) ?
