What Causes Morning Sickness And Nausea While On Navidoxine?

I am 8 weeks pregnant. I started having nausea since the beginning of the 6th week. Due to which I was unable to eat properly and had a constant urge to vomit. So my doctor prescribed me Navidoxine, 2 tabs a day. Today, I didn t feel any sort of morning sickness, just slight nausea during the evening which disappeared itself. So, I skipped today s dose. My question is, is it safe to miss the dosage or take it whenever required? Or, do I have to take it daily even when I m feeling better?

Hi,

Novodoxine is commonly prescribed to treat and prevent nausea and vomting during early pregnancy. Yes, if you do not get vomiting you may skip a dose of novodoxine it is quite safe to do so.

There are a few things you can do to feel better which include:
- Eat 5 or 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large meals
- Avoid spicy and fatty foods
- Eat healthy snacks between meals, such as yogurt
- Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, throughout the day
- Avoid odors, flickering lights, other situations that trigger your nausea
- Get plenty of rest

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
