What Causes Missed Periods Despite Having Nordette Post Intercourse?

hello doc. I have taken Nordette as an ECP drug around 12hrs. after an unprotected sex. The deed was at 24th of october. I took the first dose and the second dose after 12 hrs. I was expecting my period on the 24th-31th of October this month. I have a regular cycle and I always have my menstruation every month. But I was worried since until now October 31 I still don't have my menstruation. Is it possible that the nordette delayed my menstruation and I will not have it within this month? Thanks.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Actually if you were expecting a regular menstrual cycle by 24-31 of October... the said unprotected sex was in safe period, so there was no chance of pregnancy , Still you took Nordette as an ECP.
NOrdette is an oral contraceptive to be used through out the month.I don't know, in what dose you took it for emergency contraception.
The Pills were taken when body was preparing(withdrawing hormones) for your scheduled periods.Naturally, your period was delayed. Mostly you will get it in couple of days.
