What Causes Missed Ovulation In Spite Of Being On Clomid?

I am on chlomid and having follicle tracking. I went today on day 15 of my cycle to check ovulation but it hasn t occurred. The dominant follicle is at 27mm but there may be a cyst on it, they were not sure. I have to go back in 3 days to see if I have ovulated. I have a 27-28 day cycle, I am very regular. Could this mean my follicles never rupture and that is why I can t get pregnant. Or could this just be the chlomid? I did have an early mc and have been trying again for nearly 2yrs. Thank you.

I understand your concern.
Ovulation comprises of two parts.
- Maturity of dormanent ovum-- this is helped by clomid.
- Rupture of mature follicle is normally followed by release of mature ovum. Most of the times the follicle matures & gets ruptured by release of lutinizing hormone.. but when it does not help in rupture of follicle & release of mature ovum..
This can be a cause of non conception.
* But, don't worry.Such patients caqn be treated very well with a sterility specialist's guidance. ( injection of HCG hormone 10000 IU at calculated time helps.)
