What Causes Milky White Discharge In The Vagina?

Hi! I am 18 and have been dealing with a very sour, like enough to make you gag or cringe, vaginal discharge for about the last two months. It won t go away no matter what I try. Better diet, more water. It just doesn t want to go away. It has never been like this before. It doesn t itch or smell strongly. And it s kind of milky white and sometimes slightly clumpy. I don t know what to do or what it might be.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Milky white discharge may be because of candida infection or trichomonal infection. It can be detected by a simple Pap smear, and you have to take antifungal (for candida) or antibacterial for trichomonas.

Please consult the gynecologist for correct diagnosis and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Siddartha
