What Causes Mild Vaginal Bleeding Along With Sharp Abdominal Pain?
Hi,my menstruation for the last 2 months was just for a day n d next month it was for 4 days.this month it started on the date I expected it which is the 16th but it s nt flowing am just having sharp pains and brown stains on my pad. I had taking medications for candidiasis before the menses.please Wots wrong?
It seems that your period has started. Mild to moderate cramping is normal. Normal bleeding may ensue in a day or so However since you have sharp pain and a history of candidiasis, I would like for you to have an ultrasound of the pelvis, blood tests (complete blood count, Esr, CRP), urine analysis and a pelvic exam right away, to rule out pelvic inflammatory disease or an urinary tract infection.
If you are sexually active, I suggest you take a pregnancy test. An ectopic pregnancy (outside the uterus) could present with mild to moderate bleeding and abdominal pain.
Ovarian cysts may cause irregular cycles with different intensities of bleed. These usually resolve in 2-3 months on it own. If the cyst is too large or persists, you may need medications /surgery to reduce the size and prevent complications
I urge you to consult an OBGYN if the pain worsens or bleeding is unusual..
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Wish you good health
