What Causes Mild Pain In The Kidney Area With Throbbing Headache?

Hi I had a dull ache on my right side of the kidney Tuesday that comes and goes felt achey to bend over. I woke up with extreme dry mouth and head throbbing this morning it s Friday. I went to a walk in Drs office yesterday they said my urine was high in lecoytes (5) today I started drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice. I noticed small mucus w blood in my urine.. I started getting a little crampy and noticed the pain moved infront of my right hip now.. I hear a lot of gurgling noises and have been going small amounts of diahrea and noticed bright blood in it. I m not in any severe pain just very confused what might be going on any suggestions on what this might be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you may be experiencing urinary tract infections as well as gastroenteritis simultaneously or may be same bacteria causing both. Urine culture or stool analysis may be required. Antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin may be needed. Baseline blood work up for infection profile and white cell counts may be required. Continue hydration with oral fluids and cranberry juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
