What Causes Mild Nosebleed And Dizziness?

I ve been having very minor nosebleeds for the past week, about 2 per day and have been feeling lightheaded. Not a big deal except that it happened while I was driving today and I felt a bit like I was going to pass out. Any ideas? Age:45, Height: 5 8, weight: 135, female

Hello,

Nosebleed commonly occurs due to common cold, sinusitis, high BP. Other medical conditions are nasal polyp, nasal tumor, early signs of leukaemia, side effects of taking excessive medicines (decongestants & antihistamines, etc).

Since after the nose bleed you started feeling dizzy, you are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT, get CBC & blood/Imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort.

In the meantime, take rest, Avoid driving, stay away from tensions, anxiety & stress. Stay well nourished, take iron, calcium, protein rich diet. Check if your vitals are normal.

Avoid addictions if any. Stay well hydrated, take electrol or ORS to supplement your body electrolyte system. Your treatment will depend on the reports of the investigations obtained & your clinical condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K
