What Causes Middle Ear Infection And Sinus Congestion?

I have had a middle ear infection for 2 weeks where just my right ear is plugged with pressure, no pain, no hearing loss. It happened after I had a slight cold, and my right eye also became infected. I feel better some days like it's going away, but then it comes back and is worse. I also am experiencing dizziness when I lay down or look up. I do have some sinus congestion too. How long will this last and what can I do to get it to go away?

Hi..
Welcome to HCM..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain plugged ear after middle ear infection is due to accumulation of fluid behind the eardrum and also blocked Eustachian tube..

Secondly dizziness especially when looking up or lying down can be due to middle ear infection only while there is also a possibility that the infection has progresses to inner ear leading to Inner ear infection and can be a cause for dizziness on changing posture..

Sinus congestion can also cause persistent ear infection due to post nasal drip..

I would suggest you to consult an ENT EXPERT and get evaluated investigations like Otoscopy can be done by him and can also advise you MRI scan, Tympanometry, Audiometry etc for confirmation of cause and treat you accordingly..
As of now you should avoid sudden jerky movements of neck, be slow and steady..
Once the diagnosis is done you can be advised medications like antibiotics, decongestants and Betahistine therapy..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
