General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Metallic taste is due to stomach hyperacidity and most probably acid reflux.
It is common to experience gastritis (inflammation of stomach) while having a cold.

Furthemore, when you take medications, especially if you do not eat well, then, hyperacidity will be increased, so the metallic taste.

Take antacids and keep good oral hygiene.
If still no improvement, consult further with GI specialist.

All the best.
