General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Prolonged period could be due to hormonal imbalance, cervix/endometrial dysplasia, polyp, endometriosis, adenomyosis/fibroid, pelvic inflammatory disease.
I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination, reproductive hormone analysis, USG scan, ovarian follicle study, PAP smear/colposcopy, endometrial biopsy too confirm the cause.
Specific treatment will depend on the cause.
Progesterone pill and tranexemic acid will useful to reduce the bleeding.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet with iron supplements, drink plenty of water and maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
Hope this may help you

Contact further if follow up needed
Best regards
