For the last 9 months i have been having my periods which last 12 days. light at first, very heavy and painful for 3-4 days and then light again. about two weeks and then they start again. is this normal? should i be concerned? Prior to the pregnancy my periods were regular and no issues. i m on no medications. thank you. katrina

No, it isn't normal looking duration of periods and flow is also heavy. They restart after just two weeks and that's is not at all normal. You need to consult a Gynaecologist as soon as possible. She will examine you physically and may run a battery of tests on you to reach to a diagnosis and will treat accordingly.
Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
