What Causes Lung Nodule?

I was having shooting pains in glands in both sides of my neck. I had an US done and it showed something wrong. It also showed 3 cysts on my thyroid. The doctor then ordered a CT Scan and it also showed all the same things the US showed. Plus, they found a nodule in my right lung. What could be causing this, what could it be and what are my treatment options? Please help--I m worried because my mom died Jan. 28 of lung cancer. Please give me some answers. Thank you. Dear Sir,

The lung nodule can be a benign thing or it may be a sign of malignancy . You need to get a CT guided FNAC of the swelling for this.
